About Last Night...

At approximately 9:22pm last night, I received a call which turned into 45:01 seconds of opportunity knocking at my door via someone most people only see on tv. I have many unique interests which introduce me to many unique, interesting people. I will be meeting with this friend of mine today and will be explaining my vision for the next 365 days.
For the past 365 days, I've endured much but have seen growth and in some cases, fruit. I personally believe that bearing fruit, bearing witness, and "grinning & bearing it", all go together. I used to hold back which made life pretty difficult for me, and ever since letting go, I've really seen opportunities that I wouldn't have recognized.
Today is a big day for me, and I'm going to act like it. Why lie?
I give ALMondS to the poor...
Don't mess with Abel when he's hungry. Always come with food. Even after giving the homeless man almonds, he beats me with a branch. Oh well, he ends up with a smile, which is exactly what I came for.
More videos with Abel & others coming soon!!!

Episode #144 - About Last Night... (Light Part II) 08/17 by DiscoMinistries | Blog Talk Radio

Tonight's Podcast Live from the Old Towne Pub!
Call in at midnight - (714)888-7437
Episode #144 - About Last Night... (Light Part II) 08/17 by DiscoMinistries | Blog Talk Radio

Last Minute Show

Ok, so I thought I was done for the night. Turns out, Li'l Red wanted to do a duet, bass & vocals. Ana, the Russian girl on the podcast, I think influenced Red to do it. Long story short, Aaron produced the bass, I played it on stage at 1:30am at the Old Towne Pub when I least expect it.
Always expect to be put on the spot and always be prepared to have an answer for what you believe.

Light!

Shine on, young ladiators! It's a new day and there is opportunity out there. I'm always seeing things differently and today (yesterday) was no exception. I had a really weird Wednesday but it's over now and I can be glad. At least, for that...
The Cobalt is another story.
Just talked with Abel briefly at the tail-end of the show. It was good to see him again. I haven't seen him as often lately. He says something about hibernation.
Whatever.
Jimmy walkin up to me right now saying "Hey man, I'm in trouble. I need fifty cents to get on this bus."
I gave him 65.

On tonight's show, we had Aaron, The Survivalists, Ana, Marco, Peter, & Abel. It was great! Check it out at:

Good Morning

Back at work, early on a hot Wednesday Cali morning. After last night's pep-talk with Big Eddie really has me focused.
Speaking of which, I should probably get back to my meeting. It's so tough thinking about my dayjob when my night life is heating up. Practice with Aaron for Sunday's Birthday show at the Old Towne Pub went well and I'm pumped about playing. Then, the big Echo show on Thursday with JHRL. I don't even know who our drummer is yet. These are the type of things that make life exciting!
Today I am making an effort to complete all that is asked of me. Many of them are ongoing, but there can be completion for the day.
One project at a time. Chop, chop!

Taking it (necessary advice) from Big Eddie

Talk about obstacles, from week one, when I purchased a hunk-o-junk '06 Chevrolet Cobalt from CarMax, I have had the distinct honor of receiving added anxieties over "recall" problems that were apparently fixed.
Whew...
Anyways, I'm currently having a bro-talk with my main man, Big Eddie. Sure, he's about 150 lbs bigger than me, but I am the type of dude that likes to set the bar high. Whenever I'm not looking, Eddie will, from time to time, check the living daylights out of me. Sometimes physically, and sometimes verbally in response to my "girly-mon" obstacles.
Like any body builder would say, "you just gotta push through the pain". Having your power steering go out and your e-brake light flashing, it's hard not to yell at the top of my lungs like Jobu's got me down. (My neighbors must think I'm nuts!) The worst part of this whole "character-building" experience is the fact that it always happens when mr. fix-it is closed. Yeah, really weird, I know...
This is why I can sometimes sound "aggressive" on the bass. This is why 110% is no problem for me at any given moment. Every time Big Eddie chops away at my abs, the tone improves.
People notice.
Defeat can only happen after the battle.
Well, the cops are here. I should probably not look like I'm actually doing something productive with my phone.
This should be the beginning of a semi-consistent stream that should now be appearing on the website. Destination Gypsy inspired me to tighten things up on that end.
(I think parts of the site are still in German or something) Bear-With.
